hey guys new here, and i just picked up my first chevy project. its a 1991 camaro rs convertible, and its got that awfull 305 in it now. question is i can get a 5.3 ls with a carb and intake complete for 1600, its got some cam and all the drive stuff, water pump, power steerng etc etc. question im looking for is how to run the msd 6al box, will the 700r4 in my car work, and what will i have to do to get the 700r4 to shift correctly i was told some issues may come into play. or is it easier to just put in my pops 355 or is it worth the little hassle to put the ls based 5.3 in my car. its a dream of mine to do the swap yet im on kinda tight budget. please send some info my way thanks everyone.

Do you mean the Msd 6ls controller ? Its as plug and play as it gets . Plug it into your cam/crank sensors ,feed it power , Plug into your coils , and go! The 700 will need an adapter to run the tv cable. Ive seen them , but i dont know much about it . It can be done. I would say 5.3, A lil extra to make it fit and work but you wont regret it.

700r4 will work just fine, but don't put too much power to it or you will regret it. I used the flat flexplate and spacer and a full manual valve body to eliminate shifting issues. It was like driving a stick with out the clutch pedal.

ok thanks guys for the help, so the i called jegs up and they said they have a tci lock out kit the wires in some how to do away with the computer shifting, does this mean i would have to put it in 1, and so on and so on, or would i have to do a valve body, or will a valve body do it for me and i wont need to play with the computer cause im not very comfortable messin with computers :O thanks guys ill be taking my new car to the body shop i work at and working on it ill post pics as soon as i get them
