Default LS3 Alternator Warning Light

I'm using an LS3 in my swap and not keeping the BCM.

Does anyone know how I can get the ignition light to work on my dash.

Whilst it isn't essential I would like to have it so I would know if the serp belt was to come off the pullies.

Thanks in advance.

Since your car (vehicle?) has a lamp, one side is hot with the key on and the other side of the lamp circuit (usually brown) goes to the "L" terminal on your alternator. With the ignition on and the car not running, the bulb lights as the alternator acts as a ground. When the engine is started, that ground goes away as the alternator builds a charge and since both wires now have 12v on them and there is no differential, the lamp goes out.
