Default Mount question

I have a set of ls1 motor mount stands that I want to modify to use in my Volvo. I'm a cheap ***. Anyone cut and weld the engine stands? The parts that bolt to the crossmember on a ls1 f body.

Is this actual cast iron? Or is it the "cast" that the exhaust manifolds are made out of?

I'm no metallurgist but they appear to be cast iron on my TA.
