Opinions wanted on lsx swap canidates
Looking for opinions on good vehicles for an lsx swap. I was going to do a v8 swap on my s10 but then decided I wanted back seats. Then after seeing denmah's turbo fairmont and what other people are doing with ls motors I don't really want to mess with the old sbc.
I am a chevy guy but after seing denmah's turbo lsx fairmont and fox body's with ls motors and i'm considering a ford. I guess it will be alright as long as its chevy powered. The reason I like the fairmont and fox body's is I guess they all have rack and pinion? Thats one thing I would like to have.
Its going to be a daily driver eventually. Doesn't need a ton of power i'm thinking just a good lower mile 5.3 and a mild cam will do. I want it to be very solid with as good as possible road feel. Whatever I get will probably get SFC's if its unibody poly bushings and those sorts of little things just to really tighten up the car.
Looking for opinions and peoples experiences with putting ls motors into other vehicles. Would like to hear about any modifications, clearance problems, or any other annoyances with the swap.
Oh and last but not least. The cheaper whatever I choose to insure the better. Ive already got speeding tickets raising my rates. So I think a 2 door sports car is out of the question.

Foxbodys are easy ones, subaru Wrx's are pretty straight forward and insurance is pretty cheap and u can get 02-03 for under 5k..
Impalas,caprices, easy swap
Any G-body Gm is pretty easy and cheap
if your into any type of imports
240sx are becomin popular lsx swaps
92-00 BMW 3-series are actually pretty easy figuring if its not a m3 its a gm built car :-)
those off the top of my head ive seen, done, experienced with

Thanks for the input guys. I will have to look into the insurance on a 4cyl fox body. I think when i checked on a v6 f body it wasent really much different then a v8. There are so many more GM cars I would want to do but nothing with rack and pinion. After driving an s10 for a while I'm kinda tired of the old steering gear/idler/drag link setup. Even with all brand new steering it will only get so tight and before too long will start loosening up.
If the insurance isent to high on a 4th gen v6 fbody that would probably work nicely. Rack and pinion and super easy ls swap. SFC's and thats going along the lines of what im after.

I have to second the XJ6 (Have a series 1 XJ6 thats getting the LSx treatment myself) maybe something late 80s early 90s like this
those have less quirks than the earlier ones no inboard brakes, dual fuel tanks, etc..
