Default Alternator wiring again!

I've searched the forum but can't find the answer i'm looking for. Some of you might know that i've fitted an 05 ls1 and t56 in a tvr sports car.

The alternator is mitsubishi item, two wire plug. I've put battery +12v to one of the pins which pumps the battery voltage to 14.4v when running but I seem to be getting a +2.5v from the other pin that goes to the indicator light on the dash until I disconnect the plug on the alternator. Could anyone give me any ideas?

Regards Simon

So, is this a problem? From what you're saying, the alternator is charging... Why worry about the other pin?

The other pin is the "field duty signal wire" that should connect to your ECM. You shouldn't need a indicator light on the dash as the ECM will set a code if there is a problem with the charging system (assuming the field duty wire is connected to the ECM.
