Default Dakota Digital

About ready to make a purchase for Dakota gauge cluster. I'm curious if anyone purchased any of the "extras"?

I'm using a 4l60e. Did you purchase the GSS-2000 (gear shift indicator)

What did you do for oil pressure and water temp? Solder and tap off the factory sender wires?

My 04' 5.3 has a different oil pressure sender connector then my 02 harness has. So I was going to buy a new factory sensor that matches my harness (one pin/wire connector)

On my L92 motor I am going to use the "water" plug on the other head to install the temperature sending unit. I already bought the thread adaptor. Regarding the oil pressure I am going to drill and tap the cover plate above the oil filter with a 1/8 npt tap. I will put the oil sending unit in that location. I am running VVT so I need the factory location. You might be able to use the factory spot behind the intake manifold. I believe Dakota Digital sells sending units with metric threads if you want to go that route.

Yeah I want to move the temp sender to the passenger side head where the plug is for cleaner/easier wire routing. I already took out the plug and placed it on the driver side. Just need to clean out the threads and put some sealant tape on it.

You found a metric to NPT adapter? I really don't want to drill the heads. Especially with the heads still on the motor.

Far as the Oil pressure, I seen people tap that cover right above the oil filter. So maybe I should keep the factory oil pressure sensor there, but not use it? Just keep it there as a plug. Then delete the oil pressure wire from the harness and tap the cover on the oil pan for NPT oil pressure sender and run wire straight from there to the Dakota brain.
