ok guys here is a an really odd ball problem. just got done installing lq4 into a 70 cutlass. major issue with the fuel pump wired up engine will crank but not start it tries but won't catch. i have spark at all plugs, checked injectors with noid lights all are working, fuel psi is 58 return style. but as soon as i disconnect ground on fuel pump car starts and runs with what ever is left in rails and line by while it is running i hook back up pump car dies right away. i have hard wired pump taking it out of system completly with same exact results. check relay and even switched a few times. on relay i have 12v power to pin 30 i have ground all by its self gray wire running to pump and then signal wire from ecm. i don't know where to look anymore can anyone help or guide me on what else to check?

I think it's drawing too much current. That wire should control a relay that turns on the pump.
