Hey guys, I have a 90 coupe that I'm putting an lq4 into with truck intake and accessories and want to know what size cowl hood I will need to clear. I would like to do a 3in but want to make sure before I buy a new hood since the motor won't be in for a few months still.

What hoods did you guys go with?

Probably depends on the K member you use.

Wouldn't they k member have the engine at the same height in all applications? The engine can only be so far off and still line up correctly with the trans and be at ahe right angle

I have an 1 1/2in cowl with a carb setup with vic jr, so id say 3in is plenty of room for ur application

All I can tell you is no. The QA1 kmember with 4.6 moutns set lower than the AJE kmember I have now with the AJE mounts. Matter of an inch or so, but a difference still.

Im running the AJE kmember with an LM7, truck accessories as well. The alternator with truck accessories sits up pretty high, Im running a 2 3/4 inch Harwood cowl and it clears perfectly.

Thanks guys, ill most likely be running AJE or TeamZ k member so I will hopefully be okay with the 3in cowl.
