I also did the tanks inc setup in my 68 chevelle. So far so good. Wish they gad the tanks out when i did my swap tho i had to mod my old tank. If i have a problem i will be getting a new one. Good looking build!

Thanks for the advice.

Finally was able to begin the tear down yesterday and get some solid work done. Getting that damn crank pulley off was the PITA. After it was off everything basically fell into place.
-tore down engine to pistons and block
-hit it with an extra strength degreaser
-was able to get the heads, intake, oil pan and cam all out.
-put in the new EPS cam
-new timing chain and oil pump
-put on the CTS-V oil pan
Hopefully can get the rest done with the next week or so. Now just waiting on the new lifters to come in.

Still haven't decided what color I plan to paint the engine.

The stock 317 heads will be replaced with the LS3 heads

Pistons and cylinder walls look in good condition. Going to hit the pistons with a little soap water knock off some of that carbon.

Made some good progress today. Was able to get some of the carbon build of the pistons. Cleaned/degreased the engine. My cylinder walls showed great crosshatch. Piston seemed to look good. Also put in the new lifters.

Found out today my block is a 04+ LQ4. So the ARP bolts I bought thinking the engine was an 02 are useless to me. I ended up having to buy some stock bolts. Finally got to see the heads and intake bolt on the engine today. Hopefuly when done everything works out as planned.

I am really liking the color.

A friend of mine made a similar suggestion about the water pump. But I'm unsure of whether or not I will be using it. It seems to be hitting my TB. What are my options for my water pump? The outlet keeps hitting it. I saw somewhere someone was able to turn it away or is there a better water pump to use that wont require any spacers?

I'm undecided on whether or not I should paint the lettering on the valve covers.

Hi guys, I need some professional input. I've opted to go a different route. I no longer will be using the c5 calipers for my build. I was lucky enough to come across a deal for a set of 2012 Camaro calipers, rotors, pads and brake lines for a steal. The brakes are 14" rotors and 4 piston calipers. I have searched through Kore3's site and found nothing, although they had posted a year ago on pro-touring.com that they were woking something out for this application. Anyone know if they figured it out? I would like to not run AFX spindles (too much money!) but do need a better brake and I am trying to keep a budget. From my understanding the calipers are similar to the CTS-V caliper but my concern is the rotors. Those who have done the CTS-V swap have also switched to the Z06 rotor which from my understanding is a slightly smaller rotor. Plus I would much rather keep the rotors that came with the setup.

So the project has moved along nicely. Was able to get the Dirty Dingo Alt/PS bracket on. Like the way it looks just wish it didn't have their name all over it...ohh well.

Having a little problem with getting the dorman PS pulley to line up with the all the others. Who here has used the dorman PS pulley did you guys have any issues? I used a "BFH" to get on but because it basically plastic I afraid of damaging it.

Before I removed my PS pulley I measured the distance of the first groove from the face of the pump. When I installed my new Dirty Dingo pulley I used an installation tool and and slid it on until I reached the same measurement as the stock one. So the grooves of the pulley should be in the exact same spot as before.

Did you use the stock PS pulley or did you use the smaller Dorman pulley.

Quick update. Haven't been able to get much done recently just moved.
Here she is during the move.

I did sale the 350/350 setup I had in it over the weekend. Hopefully the new owners have more fun with it than I did.

Now that the motor and trans are out I plan to do a little cleaning in the engine bay before I stab the new motor in.

Hahaha. Just noticed your reply. We went with the Dirty Dingo power stearing pulley. Also a 25% underdrive pulley. Plenty of clearance.
