I've been busy today.

Plumbed and wired my fuel system

Drilled and tapped my water pump for the steam vent.

Drill and tapped for oil pressure gauge.

Started working on my harness. I'm hoping to get the harness done during the week and fire the motor up on friday.

You're putting together a very nice build! If you want to ditch those manifolds and put some nice stainless steel headers, these Kooks headers were designed to fit the A Body.

Interesting, I would like to hear from somone who has used them on a 64-67 A body. I talked to Kooks about a year ago and they didnt have anything out yet for them. Are these new?

Yes, they are pretty new. I don't know of anyone who has installed them on an early A body yet. Perhaps Kooks may know of someone. Thanks. Bob

I found an old Hurst T handle in my toolbox and thought it would be cool to have that old school look so I drilled the little 3/8's hole out and tapped the handle with the M16 x 1.5 threads to screw onto my stock camaro shifter.

I also picked up my shortened driveshaft today. The list is getting smaller and smaller! LOL

Don't mean to hijack your thread, but thought I would share samples of our foray into the "LS1 into a 1964 Chevelle SS" project.

Looks awesome in there! These motors really look cool in these old cars. And there's so much room to work on everything!

Completed the gas pedal swap. The cable feels nice and smooth.

The next step was to get my harness into the car. I hated drilling a big hole into my smoothed firewall, but the overall result makes the engine compartment very clean looking.

I got far enough on the electrical today to fire the car up. No exhaust on it yet, just the open manifolds. I only ran it for a few seconds since I didn't have the radiator hooked up or any water in the system, but SHE'S ALIVE!

Did you make a wiring sheet? I'm installing one in my 1968 pontiac.

I used a couple links and pages on this site to do the harness. Are you using an LS1 harness w/T56? It's almost stand alone as it is. Remove the emissions plugs and relocate the o2 sensors and then all you have to deal with are the 5 body harness plugs.

It came with motor and 4l60 hook ups, not many plugs left un-used, I have it mounted in the motor bay above the heater core. I'm thinking about changing it's location to the inside so it looks cleaner.

Very cool. The F-body harness is a piece of cake to modify. I can post the links I used for the modifications if you haven't already found them.

I decided that I wanted to keep my mechanical water temp gauge so I drilled the top flat boss on the water pump and tapped it.

I got the exhaust tied in. The car sounds great. It's a lot quieter then the old 383 was.

I dig that harness port. Where did you get it?
