Looks great! What type of paint and prep was required to paint the engine covers?

Sorry, I don't know all the details. The guy that painted my car, painted them. I don't know how he preped the covers but I'm pretty sure he just used the same base and clear coat as he used on the body. They have held up very good, no cracks or flaws in the paint. I have about 10,000 miles on the conversion. Thanks for the praise.

I am installing them now on dads car. I blasted them and painted them with epoxy satin black. They look really nice. I will get some pics today.

I also sanded out the casting seams before I painted them it really helped the finished look

I put about 30 miles on the car since I installed my bracket. After about 10 miles and a couple hard launches the belt chirps all the time except at idle.

AC on or off? Could be a bearing of one of the pulleys also.

AC is off and everything is brand new compressor, pulleys, idlers, belts, tensioners, etc. I haven't even yet popped the hood to look at, but I will find some time to do so this weekend.

Just finished dads install today worked out great.

If you are slipping a 6 rib belt you have something tight or the belt is too long.

With no ac and stock truck parts a 97 vette belt was perfect

I had the same "chirping" problem with my LS style 6.0 in a 66 GTO. After replacing almost every part (Waterpump, altinator, Harmonic Balancer, Tensioner and Idler pulley), the noise remained. Turned out the pressed on pulley on the Power steering pump (that I pressed on) was approximately 1/8 out of line. I highly recommend that you look at the alignment of the power steering pulley - that is probably your problem.

I will check it out, but I put about 500 miles on the car before I installed the A/C . After putting on the A/C the chirping began.

Getting ready to install this set up on my 78 vette. What length is that throttle cable and is it a lokar? What PS pump did you use? Vette 99?

Anyone have a part # for a belt using Corvette accessories and an SD5 compressor? I tried the one referenced for a SD 7 and I think it's too short.

BTW - I'm very impressed with the Holley bracket and highly recommend it!

Buy a handful of the next shorter belts, try them, return the ones that don't work.

This is with the 988. The instructions don't show the third mark.. 988 looks right to me. 984 is alot closer to the first mark. With some stretch it would be right in the middle the lowest mark is right at full compression of tensioner. And where the 980 belt was.

These are with the 984 much tighter on the tensioner wear grooves.
The I noticed how crooked the belt is. I tried bigger washers at the front to move the compressor out still looks off. I'm not sure if my Holley brackets are wrong or the compressor is the issue. I figured all the sanden compressors would be the same. This one is made by tuff stuff I got locally. I'm going to try to contact Holley tomorrow.

Measure the distance from the rear face of the front mounting ear to the second belt groove from the front of the pulley; the Holley supplied compressors measure 2" to that point as shown in the attached photo. If yours measures the same, you'll have to contact Holley Tech Service to resolve the issue as I don't have the means or bandwidth to check anything beyond the compressor pulley dimension.
