LS2GS - I think you just sold me on Wegner. Loved the belt wrap but didnt think there would be enough room with the PS pulley down low to not hit the PS box. Looks like it tucks in nicely though.
I was a bit concerned that the accessories were going to hit my power steering box too but obviously it worked out. If you need anything from Wegner I can get you in touch directly with Casey, If you throw my name around Im sure he will give you a sweet deal too! Pm me when ever you get to that point.

Right on, thanks a lot. When I'm ready to pick up a Wegner kit I'll let you know.

What are the plans for PCM to control the 6L80e and the engine? I would really like to go this way myself.

Its GenIV so will most likely just use an e38 pcm for the engine. The tcm is actually inside the 6l80/90 bolted to the valve body so that will do the trick.

I will have to study more about this swap, sounds like it might be a bigger project than I originally anticipated.

Well, things slowed down for a bit but I've gotten my frame prepped for the HPI brace kit, ordered a Circle D triple plate torque convertor, engine oil cooler (cant be too careful when its 110+ in the summer), Wegner front drive, Vintage Air Gen IV kit, trans cooler lines, various other odds and ends. Pulling the trigger on a harness, pedal and ECM shortly. My bank account is sad but I'm stoked! lol More info to come...

I just got the frame painted yesterday, will do some touchups today and hopefully by the end of the weekend I'll have a rolling chassis. Will post some pics then of the progress so far.

Well its not much but I'm actually putting things together instead of tearing them apart now. This was before the second coat of chassis paint, but I couldnt wait:

My smoothed firewall pieces came in from ABC, that along with the HPI frame kit and body/paint and interior work will be part of phase 2 of this never ending build. lol

Really a nice looking project. By the way at this point how much ground clearance to you have below the 6L80 pan?

As it sits theres 5 1/2" under the lowest point of the trans pan, about an inch less than under the oil pan.

No worries, the trans is out of a 2010 Escalade, I've heard you get some more clearance using a G8 pan. Though I've also heard there's a problem with the shallowness of the G8 pans and going hard in the twisties so I'm trying to steer clear of it.
