what lsx engine would you put in a 92 sierra 4x4 intended for daily driving and occasionally rodding around the weekends looking for some succor to devour. i want to get a lot of miles out of the engine and fi via turbo. key points are longevity at least 100k mile drivetrain. and at least 550hp on low boost. my thoughts are 6.2 with 6l80. whats yours?

If your dont mind spending the money then the 6.2 and 6L80E are a really good choice. However, if you are a little more budget conscious, a 6.0 with 4L80E would be a good choice. The latter could be a Gen III (99-mid 07) and run drive by cable or wire. Either way, 550 with boost shouldn't be a problem.

Shouldn't matter as either can hold that power. I'd go iron to save money, especially since the added weight shouldn't be an issue in a 4x4 pickup.

Do they make a 6.2 in an iron block? Haha guess I should've asked that to begin with.
