Default 1979 trans am oil psi switch using factory guages.need help

I have a 1979 trans am I am swapping an ls engine in. after working out alot of my issues and funding I am almost there ,however, I cannot find any other input for the factory oil psi switch. I am using factory fuel injection and 1" set back plates to retain the TH350. Using the adapter in the original location interferes with the vacuum lines on the intake. I am worried about using an adapter with the block off plate on the oil pan (running gm hot rod oil pan by the way) because the factory switch is big & bulky and do not want anything to contact it while going down the road. So my question is does anyone know a way around this and still retaining factory gauges or can anyone help me find the resistance to the factory switch so I can possibly find a lower profile version to help me mount it in one of these locations. It was a 79 trans am with a 403 olds looks to be a one wire switch.

I've seen guys take out the LS oil pressure switch and use a 90 degree adapter to point the sender to the driver side when using car type intakes. I'll get a picture up later today.

I have used the old sender in the LSx location on top and back of the block. I usually take the LS sender and use it as an adapter. I break off the black plastic part drill and tap it for the old sender (1/8" or 1/4" NPT) and you have a cheap adapter.

I then use the bypass plate on the pan for a pressure gague. As both my Chevelle and Nova had idiot lights. So I have both now.

I used and adapter, and run a manual oil psi gauge, then got a AeroForce gauge to read all the PCM knows. You can look at my build 1981TTA. Fuel hand works, and Speedo work with dakota digtal VSS adapter. Also the block off on oil pan will be fine, but I upgraded and add the truck oil cooler due to turbo is hard on oil.

Here's the 90 degree setup I mentioned.

Where did you get the adapter? Looks like it would clear in my application.

Autometer makes metric to (1/8" & 1/4")NPT adapters for LS swaps.
You can then use a standard NPT 90deg with it if necessary.

I grabbed one from summit when putting the LS3 in my 3rd gen Firebird.
