Default 4l80e crossmember for fox.

Did some research from what ive found no one makes a direct bolt on crossmember. So what to do? I ws hoping aje would have one but no luck according to their website.

Reason being is that the tranny does not fit in the tunnel without some "massaging" of the tunnel with a hammer. I am about to have to make one as well.

I might work on that this weekend. That, wiring the motor and running fuel lines are all I have left to start the vehicle.

Plan on beating the crap out of your trans tunnel or cutting it out and welding in new panels. Specifically around the fluid lines and the large electrical connector. Those were the areas I had to massage.

I build the Trans cross members for nearly every LS swap I do. The exceptions have been the older 88-98 silverado and Sierra.

I used an AJE mount for a 4L60 (or similar, don't know for sure) and added a fabricated mounting bracket behind the stock mustang brackets. Still using the stock bracket, just not exactly as originally intended. There's a few pics here:

Tunnel is going to meet the BFH soon, the body of the 80 fits fine but the electrical connectors & fluid lines are another story.

are there any other pre-made options for a 4L80E crossmember in a fox platform?

I'm in the middle of developing one right now as part of the upcoming Hooker Fox body LS swap system...this image shows a 4L80 install mocked up on the crude prototype, which is then digitized and turned into the actual production design within our CAD program.

This photo will give you a better idea as to what the finished product will look like.

The Hooker LS Fox Body engine brackets and transmission crossmembers are the next products in line for me to push on getting released and on the shelf. I had to hold the crossmembers back to be validated for use as part of a Coyote engine swap system that came after the development of the LS system. Now that the validation work is done, I can proceed towards release. From this point we're probably looking at 45 days.

Nice to see someone finally making something for the 4l80 in a fox. I found they (the trans itself) fit in the tunnel pretty well with just a few hammer taps but like shown above, you can't just bolt a cross member in. I used my AJE 4L60 cross member and welded in a couple new brackets like a few others did. They sure did not look as nice as the holley/hooker's will but they got the job done for cheap!
