65k on the old motor, sold it on E-bay for $2k. Looked rebuild able with very little wear. I wouldn't put another Porsche motor in it even if it was free. This is going to be a so much better car with the LS maybe 7 if I can get the funds right. Just started my new position on the B52's. Still a little gun shy on fund spending with this Gov shut down and now some more 2014 furloughs being disgust.

Got the adaptor kit ordered from Renegade Hybrids. Haven't bought an engine yet. Been working on the side window air intakes. 1/8" dark tinted poly and some NACA scoops.

Got parts from Renegade. Now I've got to get serious about getting an engine.

Looking at your pics in your link and looks like they changed the coolant outlet to a one piece unit similar to Toy-jet's instead of the two separate blocks. Can you confirm? Are they still plastic hose fittings?

Thanks! Really nice project... anxious to see more progress and hopefully start my own next summer!

Yes, they are plastic, is that bad? Progress will be slow, I'm also in the middle of a kitchen remodel, so you know where my priorities are, at least according to the wife. LOL

I don't think plastic is bad... I was just curious.

If I ever do mine, I would be tempted to run the LS3 water pump with spacers like White Out did. (https://ls1tech.com/forums/conversio...96-ls1-13.html). I just don't see the benifit of having an electric external pump and remote t-stat when you can run good ole mechanical.

Oh I know how "priorities" and "wife" sound like... we are selling our house to move to another city 70 miles from here this summer... but I get a garage and maybe the chance to wrench on an LS engine at last.

Keep us posted, even if you just polish a nut.

the plastic "gann" fittings are ok but will deteriorate over time. I am running custom billet blocks with an fittings. much nicer quality. but they do require a little more coin too.

as far as running a ls3 pump, just check the gpm output and volume output, since you are running fluids to a radiator over 13ft away.

your in la, not far from me. I have some rebuilt 350hp 5.3's, 425hp aluminum 5.3's, or a 550hp 6.2 if you need a motor.

Hey, Yeah I'm just north of Barksdale AFB. I've been looking at the Pace performance GM crate LS3 480hp motor. I'm gonna be on a spending freeze for a short while. When I get serious about buying I'll let you know and see what you got.

Thanks
