As stated above, $1500 is a VERY tight budget for what you are wanting to do. If you stay 58x its going to be a very good idea to have a harness built, which you could do even if you convert the 58x to 24x via a converter box.

Either way, we can build you a custom plug and play harness with the factory f-body firewall grommet, and routed just for your f-body. But that will take half of your budget.

An LS3 swap will really get into your wallet, even if you already have the engine.

If he's got the whole 2010 Camaro there is enough wiring to work with..then again I'm saying that coming from experience..

just swap the reluctor wheel. the box is junk imo if it fries itll leave u stranded. but the cam sensor and knock sensor extension wiring from caspers or racetronix, a good tune and transmission as well along with headers crank pulley and other bolt ons itll run u more than 1500 though to have it running.

I agree. However, there really arent many DIYer's that can do what you can. But I help everyone all I can, even if they are trying to do it themselves.

OP- In the end, it just comes down to what you want it to be. You can skimp and try and save money. I suggest taking your time and make it what you want it to be. It seems you have sentimental value in the car, dont cut corners- you will not be happy in the end. ( has nothing to do with harness, just advice for your swap in general.)

I would stay EFI since the car is EFI.

Biggest thing in there is the 58X Reluctor. I would get the Conversion Box, re-wire the Harness to a 99-02 LS1 Fbody, get a 2002 LS1 Computer and the 90mm 4-bolt TB, and a 4L80E..maybe a 4L60E but that depends on what you are doing with it.

I'm saying this cause that 6L80E is a monster..that and that is what I would do if I had to put a LS3 into a 4th Gen given the parts you currently have.

Budget and knowledge is a factor here.

Your trying to save money, which is very understandable. But in the process you are making things much more complicated than they have to be. There is an old saying that goes well for this situation. "Pay now or pay later." Do it right the first time or it will cost you more in the long run.

As Merv said, use the converter box or change your reluctor wheel and run on the 0411 pcm. Put a 4l80 behind it and call it a day. You can rewire the lsx harness to work in your car or purchase a harness. These options will make your swap 10x easier.
