6.0L LQ4 core price???
Shop down the street is replacing a 2003 6.0 LQ4 with a rebuilt from NAPA.
It's got about 74000 miles on it.
Core has a spun rod bearing on cyl # 4.
This would be a perfect candidate for my stroker project.
Core charge is $550.
What's the going rate for a core like this...???

I would pass on that you can get lq4s in most places even in IL where prices are higher for 1500 or so for a complete running engine with harness. Its the better route to take in the long run and will save you money as trying to buy all the little bits and pieces you didn't account for start to add up.

that's crazy 550 for a core 6.0, I work at a lkq yard up in Canada and we core them for 150 bucks problem with that is they don't last long guys always grab them as soon as they come in.

I thought that was way to much also...
I called my local wrecking yard, (100 miles away) he will sell me a "core" 6.0L for $250.
In the past I've also bought a 2000 HD2500 6.0 for $750. (Totaled of course.)
Just picked up a rough, high mile, runs/drives 2003 Suburban flex fuel 5.3L for $850.
This is where my first 6.0 went...
This thing pulls well...but you always want more...(this is where the stroker will go.)
