Default Short Block swap

Hey everybody I'm lost in a sea of genius on this site. New to working on cars and recently picked up a 2000 S10 with an LS1 swap already done. the bottom end is fine for now but I was wondering what all needs to be done when swapping short blocks. I know there are some sensors and such but as far as modifications to wiring or anything like that? I'm specifically thinking about LQ4/9.

would really need more information.. but basically it is a one for one swap.. some minor area depending on what you currently have and what you are going to.. You have to give more info on a question like this.

A few area depending on what year (from / to) or Gen III, IV or V.
Knock sensors
Reluctor wheel 24x or 58x
Crank Sensor
Cam Sensor
ECT Sensor

Sugguest you do some Research/Reading before starting to ask General Question that cannot be answered without someone asking you more questions.

LQ4 out of an 02 Denali. Now I'm thinking of a long block swap. My current engine is a 2001 LS1.

Both are Gen III engine.. should match up with most if not all sensors. Just swap over what you currently have and it is just a short/long block swap..

Will have to drill/tap for the third Alternator mounting bolt for an Iron Block as the F-Body Accessories doesn't have it drilled and tapped.

Just a side note, 02 Denali would have an Lq9,
