I was waiting at Canada corner to snap a couple pics of you last year, but.....
Now I know the rest of the story.

I know you don't need any inspiration, but the Schwartzmeister set the bar pretty high for 81's.

I remember drooling over that car... especially with it displayed teasingly 50 yards from my spot on the paddock. I wonder if they were trying to tell me something.

Got an email today telling me the fiberglass nose shipped. I should hopefully get it in the next few days. In the meantime, I still have to look at the original beak...

Finally, out in the sun:

Old nose has numbered days...

The car is really looking good! I didn't think I would like the gold trim, but it really looks good. Good luck at Road America. Any chance you have the NASA Nationals on your list this year? They are at VIR this time around.

I can't wait to get rid of the ugly grey nose. The new one arrived today, and is off to the painter. NASA @ VIR sounds very cool. I may give it a shot, but will need to do some soul-searching on the class I want to be in. Right now, due to horsepower alone, I'm looking at AIX, where I think I'd get my butt handed to me on a platter. I've been eyeballing SCCA CAM very closely though.

This year, I paid for membership in both orgs.

This weekend event at Gingerman Raceway will be the first one with the new engine and FAST EFI 2.0 system (yes, the throttle body version, looks like a carb). Just have a bad MAP sensor to replace and I should be good to go.

The new nose is getting painted this weekend and should be on before the MFBA event at Road America on May 2/3

For NASA SE and MA regions, we have an Outlaw Vintage Class that your car would fit in. You run in the same group with the AI, AIX, CMC ect guys but usually start in the back as the last group. Here's some info http://www.outlaw-vintage-racing.com/home.html

Are you running the 77-8 nose again or going with the 79-81?

At last, got the new engine and EFI system out on the track. Once we got the bugs sorted out, the car ran extremely well. Here is a little sample.

Going from turn 10b to 11, we were hitting 120 MPH and from 11 to turn 1 (front stretch) we were hitting 105. It was an absolute blast. Highly recommended

New Nose is on, and the adjustable coilovers are installed in front. The Fays2 Watts link is halfway install and will be finished by Sunday evening.

New nose and paint looks great! Where did you buy the fiberglass front end from? I may go that route someday.

I got it from Americansportscar.com. it is made very well and to exacting specs. Keep in mind most cars from this era don't really adhere to spec so there will be some adjusting and double checking involved. If you want to this route, I strongly suggest getting the part and doing your mock up before painting the car.

Well, Karl, you did get out on the track - pics to prove it.
