has anyone done an ls1 in a dodge magnum wagon hemi's are to expensive im a wagon fan and want something that looks better then a caprice wagon |
Nope. I've seen a couple of Charger threads pop up but they didn't go anywhere. |
BMW wagon? |
It would need all new gauges and everything because none of the electronics would work right |

Yep,not worth the effort, just buy a hemi wagon and save your money. |
I'd get a better car. Like a bmw wagon. American is crappy |
That's funny, I have a friend with one in his shop right now wiring up an '08 Silverado engine and trans in to a Magnum. Will use the factory gauges as much as possible. I'll see if I can get some pictures from him. |
OP didn't say he wants a hot rodding project, he wants a magnum hemi, but it was too expensive. The cost of a new motor and trans plus the work involved would probably bring a base model to or over the magnum price. That said, having seen the interior of the magnum they gave my dad to drive for work I'd skip it altogether and get something nicer. |
First of all mopar is the most non-aftermarket friendly mfg out there. My buddy does glass installs, had to remove seats and door panel after a break in. Car would not start and had to be towed to a dealer and reprogrammed just to start the dumb thing. You cant put a cam in them cause there only a couple guys who can tune the factory PCM. Big heavy turds just like their 60's ancestors. |
Current performance wiring is doing the car jones'n spoke of. Looks to be done from his Facebook page |

There are only 2 good Chrysler products worth owning.... a Cummins truck or a Viper :jest: Maybe the new Wrangler or Grand Cherokee that will have a turbo diesel option. |
I call bs on aftermarket support. I own and daily drive a supercharged, and cammed srt magnum... Tuning is widely available, even on the new cars. They are heavy, but very comfortable IMO. But i have been thinking.. If i did happen to blow the hemi up, i would rather spend the money and get an lsa or ls7 before getting another hemi for it. |
2005 magnum lq4 comp cam supercharged 1 Attachment(s) daily driver drive way build. supercharged, comp cam, 614 624@ 114, 4l80e, and 8 psi |
Did you get the gauges to work or did you go aftermarket ? |

gauges all gauges except speedo work. I haven't spent much time with that one, It uses abs for a signal. It worked before I deleted abs. I will go aftermarket. I will fit them in the stock cluster. also for nick.... my shitty wagon goes 10.46 at 128 on a low budget build and weighs only 100 more pounds than my friends 2ss. and can seat 5! When you have kids this becomes important. |
