I heard the solstice prototype was lax powered. Wonder if that's fact or fiction.

I know you're looking for domestic ideas but you seem to have missed the most common import swap. The RX7

Prob the most well documented, easiest and one of the best end products.

There seem to be a lot more import 2 seaters than domestic. I like my Datsun Z car. Right up there with the RX7 for popularity.

Solstics, sky and Fiero have all been mentioned and have all been done. Vette and viper both come to mind. I guess the old T birds were 2 seaters. Corvairs. Now that would be cool. I've seen some Vegas that got turned into 2 seaters once the big block was added.

A Nash Metropolitan. Good luck finding one let alone fitting a V8 in there.

I would guess the rx7 or miata would be the way to Go. The solstice would be cool to but I think it would be harder to find info on the swap. Rx7 weight ratio would probably better than the miata

I'd do a older import like a 1980 Datsun 280zx, they can be bought on the cheap side and find southern one with no rust.
