Default What is this?

I purchased a 99 z28 3 years ago. I am currently running some wire for gauges and took the under part of the plastics out from under the steering wheel. This is what I found.... Can anyone help me understand what may be going on here? What should I do to fix this??? It doesnt seem like I should leave it.. right?

Thank you for any help at all.

Looks like a resistor used to bypass the VATS

+1.. should be a series of resistor to make the correct resistance for the VATs to by past it... try disconnecting it.. and most likely it will start and die (1-3 sec).

If you measure the resistance of the key pill.. it should match what the resistors should read. (if they don't.. most likely someone switch out something).

Thanks! From the quick looking around I'm thinking you are right. Saved me a lot of headache. I appreciate it!
