Default Just got an LS1 - Harness question

I just picked up an LS1 for my 67 camaro. The guy was not sure which year the camaro was it came out of, but it is indeed an LS1 from a Camaro....the best i can tell.

The purchase came with a Harness, but to be honest, i dont know if this was the actual harness that came off of the motor. It's def NOt a truck harness.

I took the harness to my transmission shop and had my friend there ID which plugs went to the 4L60E. He said that the harness was missing 2 plugs for the tranny. He said they were called the MLP plugs. He said they were used to indicate what gear the transmission is in.

Ive looked the harness pretty good and it does not look like the harness has had anything cut out of it.

With that being said....does anybody know what this harness may of came off of?

Also...is there any stamping's on the engine that will help prove this engine came from a camaro/trans am and possibly the year????

Thanks,
Kyle

That's exactly what im talking about. It doesn't have the plugs that the PRNDLE plug into . I just assumed that the camaro had those too. How do the camaro's know what gear they are in?

Thanks
Kyle

The Shifter has the Range Switch on it, it's also the Safety Switch and for the Reverse Lights.

Column shifter vehicles use the range switch on the trans. Floor shifter vehicles have a range switch built in
