New member -66 Nova SS 5.3 Turbo
Greetings from Sweden!
My first post here so I start with some pictures & info of my Nova -66.
Dont hate my english, I try the best I can!
First three photos of some of my previous builds, a street Volvo Amazon with volvo 2,3 16valve turbo, best ET 10,51/214km/h. A strip Volvo Amazon with the same engine as the first one.
And finally a street Volvo PV 444 with volvo 2,3 8 valve turbo, best ET 11,5/195km/h.
Now I have started my latest Project, a Nova -66 SS that I have bougth an stock 5,3l Vortec engine for. It,s gonna be turbocharged of course! I plan on running a Holset HX55 PRO and a turbocam from A. Artursson (PPF) (camaroandreas on this forum) More info to come...

Thanks! This week I plan to mount the motor in the engine bay. The paint is nice on picture but it really need a paint job. Hoping to get that done until next summer. The wheels are AR Baja 16x8.
Has anyone used a HX55 PRO on a 5,3 engine? Turbo spec 71in 78out #22 Exhaust. The cam specs: 227/235 115+3 lift 0,613/0,610. Hope it will deliver some serious power! My goal is 6-700hp, no more, this i going to be a street driven car.

JoHanR,
Welcome to LS1tech. It looks like you are no stranger to building badazz rides. I really like the black Volvo.
The Nova looks like a great start. This is my fav. body style. This should be another sweet ride for you. Keep this thread updated. LOL

Well i hope this one will be the most badazz!!
Always thought of the 66-67 Nova as one of the best looking car, and I like that it is pretty small and light. It was hard to find this one, not to many SS in Sweden.
Not much progress this week, painted the block and fitted some chrome. I have bought a set of LS7-lifters, a set of doubble valve springs to work with the cam. Hope It will be a engine with a decent NA power and low boost (8 Psi) Thats how a intend to use it, most drivable/reliable that way I think for the street.
With my previous builds I were running up to 28 Psi, made really nice power but had some problems with blown head gaskets, even though they were o-rings + gaskets.
My engine conversion plates/mounts seems to got stuck in the shipment, problem due to 4 Juli I was told by my dealership.
Intend to use the truck manifolds flipped forward, but I think there will be fitment issues. Is there any other manifolds that will work flipped forwards in a stock front end Nova -66-67?

Finally my motor conversion mounts arrived and I could test mount the engine. Well, the truck headers seems to be a bit big for the Nova. Hookers cast headers maybe will fit better. I will take some measurements and se if they will fit. I don´t want to cut so much in the original front end.
Also bought a set of FAST 960cc/min injectors and a 12-bolt rear end with Strange 33-splined driveshafts and a spool, a previous race-axle. Hope it will withstand the turbo power!

Im running an HX55 on my build.. Not finished yet but there is a C3 vette on here running one and a guy with an 06 GTO with one too..
should be a fun car.. I would try to run a low boost setting.. like 10-15lbs..

Nice build you have started. You might want to check out this build. It should be helpful.

Well, long time since last update. Now the rear end is done, TCI 4-link with 12-bolt with Strange spool and axles. 3,5" drive shaft from Strange. Engine is fired up with Swedish made engine control system MaxxECU. Adding some pics.
