Finally an update! glad you got her up and running. Good luck figuring out the bugs, you will get there soon. Where do you call home in WA? I'm up near Mt. Vernon.

This is what I am seeing on my scan tool, the timing advance seems way to high to me. Can anyone verify if this is normal or not. You can hear the engine in the background and hear it stumble when I try to give it gas. Also what could be causing this problem?

Cool build. I had a bone stock weak as crap trooper back in the day and that thing did surprisingly well off road. Would've loved to had it with the power of a V8.

Just saw your Trooper thread and it really interested me. I've got a 2000 Trooper with a bad trans an it burns a little oil. Got several trans replacement estimates and sure didn't like those numbers at all! 5.3 with 4wd trans are a lot cheaper than a Trooper trans. Just might be a interesting alternative.

Dammit, G. I keep seeing posts, see that you were the last to post in it and think it might be legitimate or interesting, just to find you admonishing people who don't pay attention or know how to look up the last time a user was on. LOL. This seems like the 4th one in the last couple weeks. Hahaha.

No apology needed! Just advising that OP will likely not reply.

I am also thinking of using a ls motor in my isuzu bighorn, it's a blowing up 3.1 tdi, some people online say that a ls4 bolt pattern is the same as the transmission of the 2.8l.
the 2.8l and 3.1l are the same block.
But the starter will this fit?
Are all ls stud patterns the same?
I have a ba2 ford falcon boss 5.7l v8 at home, but it looks to big in size 340kws, the ls looks smaller than the ford.
And would the 3.1l tdI transmission be strong enough for the ls?
either that or a Toyota V8 as Johnny five tells you how to do it. But who wants a cam belt to change.
Thanks
