Default Where to place the O2's in exhaust?

Hey guys,
I'm finishing up alot of little things on my LQ4 conversion and I'm still using the stock cast manifolds, and running 2.5" on back from there.

My question is, where do i need to place the O2's from the collector?

I've heard 18" from the rear exhaust port or 6" from the collector, blah blah blah. & i'm assuming the clocking of the O2 needs to be on top or at 12 o'clock to keep moisture out of it?

I figure its fairly important so thats why i'm asking you thanks in advance

Yeah. .that has always been a good subject to kick around. If using stock cast mainifold.. I would go with what the OEM / Model has, usually around 18" or less seem about right.. I know that some of the Manifold do have the O2 mounted in them just before the pipe.

4th Gen Camaro had the Driver Side O2 in the manifold... but the passenger side had it in the header pipe just before the bend going to the rear.

If using Header.. not much choice except to must in the Collector or right after the collector.

As far as clocking. Anywhere from parallel and above would be ok. that would keep the moisture from collecting on the O2.

Are you using O2 #2, post CAT ?

yeah these are 100% stock cast truck manifolds.

I'm using the pre-cat O2's, Denso's

Not trying to hijack the thread but do you have to run both pre and post o2's?

You will need both pre sensors but not post sensors. If you eliminate the post sensors you will need to tune them out of the PCM or you will have a check engine light.
