Default Clutch Linkage Problem - 68 Camaro/5.3

My set-up is a 68 Camaro with a 5.3 mated to Tremec 5-speed and mid 70's aluminum bellhousing. The engine is in and everything is fitting perfect but I ran into a snag on the clutch linkage. There is no spot on the block for the linkage z-bar "stud ball", but there is a spot on the bell housing. The stud ball originally mounted on the block. The bellhousing location is about 1.5" farther back and the linkage does not align. Another problem is the 2010 camaro stock manifolds are in conflict (barely) with the linkage z-bar. I'm hoping someone makes a kit with a modified z-bar that can bolt up to the bellhousing location? Other ideas? My buddy helping me with this project is a master mechanic and thinks he can modify the original z-bar to fit but I'm hoping there is an easier/safer solution.

Thanks. Doug

Most folks change to hydraulic, but there are a couple of versions of the ball stud adapter. Some guys make their own. Here is an article.
