yep, all the g8 guys have seen the same result from over driving the rear pulleys. Mine made about 20 rwhp and 40 rwt. It ran out of fuel with the stock pump or it would have made a **** load more. They have a tendency to slip with the stock pulleys on the rear. That's with just the cog change and I had to put the stock front pulley back on cause it was making too much boost and causing detonation when I was data logging. I went from 9 lbs of boost to 14 lbs with the 3.1 pulley, then I put the stock 3.4 pulley on and kept it at 12 lbs. I did mine because the low cost of the cog drive, best bang for sure.

I get a squeal from SOMETHING under my hood at about 6k rpm's sometime. I havent beat on my car enough to be able to see if I have any boost bleeding off or not. I'm thinking its either the rear belt slipping, or maybe an idler pulley up front.
I get a squeak in the morning but after I drive awhile it seems to go away. May be a serp belt too? IDK I just want to drive the car lol

It probably is, almost all the g8 guys had this issue including me and that's why I went cog on the rear, you don't have to worry about anymore slipping, none. It could also be the tensioner not keepin the belt tight. Its a cool build, the Gen 3 stuff is kinda over looked, but your seeing more swap into these cars as they are pretty cheap to pick up and make great projects like yours.

So my GMHTP article never came out, since they closed the magazine.
However, editor Rick Seitz started his own website www.gm-efi.com to carry on with what is the new to me GMHTP.
They just launched my article today
