Default Headers that fit

Purchased a set of Hooker headers for my 72' Chevelle LS swap. When in place on the heads they touch the floorboard under the body. Also do not allow the neutral switch linkage that 72's have to work without hitting the collector. It appears that if the headers were an inch or two lower they would fit. Of course the engine is as low as it can go, only about a quater of an inch above the cross menber.
Anyone know if Hedman Headers might fit lower (from the heads down to where the tubes bend toward the back) than the Hookers?
I checked and the Hookers I got were the correct one's for my Chevelle.

I put headmans on my 64 chevelle with an ly6 , fit great , hookers are notorious for not fitting , needing to be bent , modified , smacked with a bfh

Thanks, I think I will see what I can find out about the Hedman Headers and how they fit on a 70-72.
