what year's 6.0 and 5.3's are ideal?

Default what year's 6.0 and 5.3's are ideal?
So tired of my old sbc in my 72 camaro. So going to really get on looking for a ls. Si from what I understand the 02-06 6.0 are best to use with a 6 speed and as for 5.3 same? Thanks

02 they did away with EGR 03 they started drive by wire 05 had the better rods/pistons not sure when gen IV started but expect a bit better gas mileage with them
