Default Lexus SC600 Build

This is my Lexus SC400 the day i picked it up

Lexus IS250 Rims

Here is my lexus on JRZ Coilovers and Nismo LMGT4 rims

I decided i needed more power then the 1uz-fe could offer (BTW It's for sale first person with 300 dollars can have everything harness engine tranny take it all!! haha) So i came across a good deal on a chevy 5.3l and got to work

I plan on making this car a street/strip car so i decided to stay automatic and picked up a TH400 that had been recently rebuild about 10k miles on it and I had it rebuild again with better clutches, sprag, shift kit the whole 9 yards

Then i picked up a harness and ECU from Local truck salvage yard

and an F-body oil pan

Then i started operation make the engine look pretty with some wrinkle paint lol turn out pretty good i suppose i like it

Well the all the truck accessories are huge and so I had to move the alternator backet down and to the right with an offset plate still don't think it will clear the hood so i might have to remake the plate but yall get the idea

Then it was time to finally take the car out of commission

and get started on making the mounts and everything for the 5.3 swap this is the transmission mount just need to weld the tab to build it to the mount

This is the car with the 5.3 sitting in the bay tranny mounts there but it's just resting on the crossmember as of right now.

Now that all that has been said probably wondering why it's SC600 build with a 5.3 well prior to setting the engine in the car i went to take the truck oil pan off to put the F-body pan on when i got the windage tray off I saw a bearing smashed just sitting there. It was a cam shaft bearing so i talked to the guy i got the motor from and he had a LQ4 also and he offer to trade back the engine for the LQ4 if i put up some cash so i hopped on it. So this weekend i will be swapping all my LS1 stuff from the 5.3 to the 6.0 and we are gonna try and have the car completely done by Nov 30th

I thought doing this when my friend offered to just get his sc400 with no engine/tranny in it out of his yard. But I live in Money Hungry can't do whatever you want Cali !

I'm still thinking about it and keeping it a track car only!

Go get it..

Even if you decide against the project, someone near by may be willing to make the trek and put it to good use. Not me though, I am 1900 miles away....

What did that run you and did they check the valves as well, or go ahead and do a valve job on them?

I have a chance to get some 317's but don't know if they will fit the 5.3L

Yeah they will fit on a 5.3 and I want to say it was like 180 for the heads to be completely rebuilt valve seals, springs milling and vatted

Why is that? The pair of heads would only run me $100, plus getting the milling and valve job.. Maybe $250-300 total, depending on the shop and condition of the heads.

Better flow is better flow... And with as easy as it is to change the heads on these, I could do it on a cold day and it not take that long.

I apologize, I am not trying to hijack the thread...

They are not better flow bro, do some research. With 350 u can find urself some 799 which flow identical to the 243 which outflow and is already at the compresion U would want to make some power. The only reason to run 317 heads on a 5.3 and maybe a 4.8 would be to lower compression for boost.
