My 95 Mustang Conversion (Pic Heavy)
I have been on here asking questions and getting information for my swap but have not posted a pic or progress. Well the car is completed besides some Dyno tuning so I guess now is the time I post some pics.
I started in November of 2012 when I sold my 351W turbo 90 Notch that made 595RWHP on 11lbs on straight 93 pump gas. I wanted something cleaner and more reliable. Was leaning away from a straight race car and wanted to be able to look decent for some car shows...
Here's what I started with 1995 Ford Mustang V6 5speed. I looked at almost a half a dozen cars off of Clist till I found the one I was looking for. I wante 94-95 because it still had a Vacuum brake booster. 96-99 had hydroboost and since I wasn't planning on running PS I would have to convert to manual brakes. This was a true budget build so every penny was saved to get this done.
I can't say it enough I have some of the best friends in the world that helped me here. One member in particular 6underpressure/Driven87 was the main motivation on getting this car done so fast and I could never repay he enough for all the work he did for me. Good friends like him are hard to come by....
Plan was as follows
Junkyard LQ9
TH350 trans
Cam and TB
Better heads or milled 317's
AJE Kmember w/ stock A-arms
V8 Rear with 4.10s
Our goal was to keep the engine compartment clean and show worthy while making a decently quick car on motor for now.

Got a V8 rear with 4.10's from a 95 cobra, (just had to drive 2hrs each way for it..)
Ready for Engine
I think it took us 20 min total to drop this in, only because one coil was hitting the brake booster (after we realized they were the car coils and swapped them for truck ones)
Fuel system started (stock tank sumped and Paxton pump -10 to pump, -8 feed, -6 return)

Tank was $150 used from a friend, Pump was a trade from another, Lines and fittings were prob $250 plus $130 for the regulator
It had the better sprag in it already, just a reverse manual VB, new pan and clutches

Did you do a return style fuel system?
I would be interested on the complete cost and time frame it took on this build.
Haven't seen one so simple yet so perfect.

I spent about $12K from start to finish in 10 months. But I could have gotten it done a lot faster if I had all the money at once. LOL or If I had the time, I was working 7 days a week till this April then I just had weekends to work on the car.

Nice work but I have to ask, why sump the tank, run new lines, & spend the $$$ on the fuel system? Did you consider running an upgraded in-tank pump with a vette regulator? It should have been easier & cheaper. I'm guessing you didn't go this route because of future plans for boost.
