Painted and cleaned up and wrapped the manifolds and the hot side

I bought a 100' roll of wrap and literally used 99' of it.

All kinds.
I've got the motor and transmission in. Haven't quite made a final design decision on the crossmember.

Almost have the engine and fuse block wired up.

Finished the gauge panel. The consol is going to stay half done until the car moves under its own power, because the ecu is inside of it.

Redid my transmission cooler, so the fan is mounted about the cooler pushing down to the ground, back behind the gas tank under the trunk.
Modified the hydroboost bracket to simplify it and make it easier to seal against the firewall with the standoffs.

Decided to redo the fuel pump hanger again and change it to a single walbro 450 rather than dual 255's so the whole assembly will be dramatically simpler.

It's moving along quite well. A lot of little half finished projects.

Looks good man. I always find it easiest to have a whiteboard in my shop and put up a list of things I need to do on it and just pick something off the list and go to town on it until it's done. Otherwise I get a.d.d.'ish and I can finish anything because I want to work on everything....lol on that note I can't wait to get back out into my shop and finish assembling my lq4.

Ya, I do that sometimes, but I end up needing a different fitting, or a different bolt, or some other part that I have to order. So I go start in on another project.

Default hydraboost

what did you get the hydra boost off of? I have a 74 Nova and want to add hydra boost. Did the power steering pump come with the motor?

Thanks

The hydroboost came off a 1990 chevy astro.
My current power steering pump is off the 2002 2500 6.0L. It has the two reservoir return fittings.
The 2500 trucks came with hydroboost also a lot of the times so you may be able to take that whole system from the same vehicle and make it work.

Cool, Thanks. I noticed you notched the truck pan also. I went to a local welding shop and they said welding that cast aluminum would be difficult. I just bought a miller dynasty and probably could have done it myself.

Actually I notched an f-body pan. I took it to a local drag race car builder Holzman Race Cars and they welded it up, with the turbo drain fitting also. I made the plates to cover the notch to save myself some money though.
Here's a thread I made for reference.

It's just a standard GT45 turbo from VSRacing. 69mm, 1.05 A/R I believe.

Been getting closer and closer to startup lately...

Finally finished my fuel sending unit... this was ridiculous and took forever to find a fitting that would fit... Note to self... don't reinvent the wheel.

cleaned up a lot of wiring, finished all of the electrical, mounted the transmission dipstick, made a new firewall cover plate, mounted the fuse/relay block, installed all the gauges (still need to finish the console).

Building a crossmember hopefully this weekend and then going to do a once-over and hopefully put the negative battery cable back on the battery and check for electrical fires.
Getting so close...

Finally finished the fuel sender assembly and reinstalled it in the tank and and reinstalled the tank and my transmission cooler. Fuel system DONE... again.

Next up, clean up the core support, paint it and the intercooler black and put the front end back on...

Got my Allstar catch can installed with my Mighty Mouse oil cap adapter... more pictures to follow.
