Looks great man! I just got my JW Rod Garage MII delivered and will get started installing it, hopefully, this weekend.
Question: how and/or where did you have your front chrome redone? Was it stripped and replated or did you find replacement pieces, such as the grill etc?
Thanks, and congrats on a really great build!

The bumpers are new reproduction pieces from Orange County Car Shop (good source for aftermarket replace the parts) for $300 each. http://www.truckandcarshop.com/41-57car/c41_cover.html
The hood ornaments are originals I found on eBay. If you look, you can find some good deals there!
The grille is a re-chromed original (not mine) that I bought from a shop in California. It wasn't cheap ($1,100 shipped ), but I would've paid twice that or more to get my original grille re-chromed.
Hope this helps you and good luck on your build! BTW- Do you have any pics of your car or a build thread?

I'm assuming you had to also use the F-body water pump when you switched to the LS1 intake; were there any other truck accessory issues you ran into?
Thanks again (x10!)

Great build. I'm doing similar with a 52 sedan. How's that manual rack and pinion steering with 245 tires? In the back What offset would work better to keep from cutting? 4 inch instead of 4.5? I would like some feed back before I order tires.

What a beauty! Looks great!
This whole thread has been awesome, Thanks for the tip on the hooker headers. We're pretty much doing the same build. 1951 Styleline with Mustang II front end, 4.8 & 4L60e from a 00 Sierra and a rear end from a 3rd get camaro.

Maybe some red pin-striping would really make the flat black and wheels pop? Or even do the roof in another color or another sheen?
Hope this doesn't sound critical! It looks great!

Hi Leadfoot85, I'm just starting on a very similar build.1952 Canadian Pontiac 2dr post. All aluminum 5.7 LS1 and 4L60E out of a 2000 Camaro SS with a 1997 S10 3:73 posi rear diff. I have a spare frame from a 1951 that I'm going to build first and put my body on. The car was grandfather's that he bought new and I got in 1974. It was sold one me and I just found it by luck 42 years after losing it.

I have a friend who has a '51 Chevy 4 door and he has his eye on a '82-'92 3rd gen.Camaro rearend with disc brakes, I was reading in another area on this site there's a fella who's telling someone that the 3rd & 4th gen. rearends are junk because they have the 7.625 carrier gear and it's just to weak. He also said this fella should go out and purchase a 10 bolt 8.5 corporate rearend from a truck. Did you research your 3rd gen. and find anything negative about it like this fella is talking about. My friend stated the rearend he's looking at has the disc brakes and it has posi, he just doesn't know the gear ratio. I told him how to find that out, and that part will be OK, he's more concerned with it being weak. Oh,one more thing he looked in Chassis Engineering's catalog and he needs to buy a x-member and ''CE'' keeps referring to the drop of the x-member and I told him I just didn't know. I told him I would check with people on a few forums i belong to and try and find out for him. Any help will be much appreciated

52 book build. Where can I purchase? Thanks
what radiator are you using and who did you purchase it from
have not decided on mine yet
prices (and i am sure quality) are running all over the place
trying to gather information on pros and cons of an intergal trans cooler
as well as big tube versus small tube radiator
will also be cooling p/s fluid and oil
(52 fleetline w L76 / 6L80E )
purchased my wheels from circle racing
18X9 front and 18x11 rear
chassis narrowed in rear with tubs
style is similiar to Rod and Custom road tour 52 Chevy
there is a book documenting build with a lot of information
wiorth the money.
