Default lq4/mustang/ turbo or nitrous ???

hey guys love the site. registered today after months of reading and snooping around here.

couple questions on my lq4 mustang build...
car is done, all suspension that is. now on to the power plant

i have a 2000 2500 with a cast iron headed lq4 208k runs great but retiring from service
i have sourced a set of 799 heads off a all alum 5.3 suburban,a ls6 intake and cable tb, bought a ls1 balancer and water pump
looking into texas speed cam/springs/push rods/lifters

what should i do to the bottom end, if i have to bore i will of course do pistons, should i do rods?
what oil pump? head gaskets etc. being new to the process i have some great info to start but the research says the combos are endless!

looking for a high nine second 3000 lb daily! turbo or nos either i am fine with doing, i just want a good base for the motor so that i dont have to do that work twice

also what are you guys having the best luck with as far as tuning? DENMAH has great write ups but im just looking for ease of tune and install maybe not so much the budget.
thanks Matt

added a couple pics of the car

turbo 350 already done....going to start with a 3000 converter but was trying to make the car lazy down low to get some wheel speed on the street. will change if necessary.
that being said im budgeting around 5000 for this first wave and will upgrade as money allows and time.
i want to make the bottom end, fuel sustem and the turbo/nitrous kit the priority first. 5000 is a personal set limit, not what i can spend total. if i go over fine, if i get it running for less great.

keep in mind the car is done, the trans is done, i have the motor and tons of misc stuff. water pump, balancer etc. all my gauges, cage in car etc.
thanks matt

If my goal was high 9s but wanted something pretty badass id do a 408. My turbo motor is a 408 but im aiming for the moon with boost.. Here is something that might help you a bit
http://www.gmhightechperformance.com...d_on_a_budget/

my stroker kit was 1300 plus machine shop and valve job on my heads i was still under 2k..
I had a ls6 that made 350whp through a turbo 400 and it ran 10.7 all day .. On 100 shot it went 10.1 with the converter slipping.. So to save some money and always have the power get more cubic inches, and if its not enough add some nitrous.

You also have to remember wiring, dont know if you got a harness... So that cost some money if you want a stand alone... I always use PSI harness's... Also tuning wise alot of guys use HPtuners

Personally I would not mess with the bottom end other than just a freshening of bearings and check the crank. These motors hold up to a LOT of abuse and just sluff it off without a whimper. Turbo gives you the power you want whenever you want it, where nitrous gives you the power you want til the bottle is empty, like happy hour at a bar.

Depending on what you want to do with the car determines size of turbo, and size of fuel system. Injectors are easy, several steps too big is just enough. You can have a stock engine and run 60 pound injectors on it, so long as it is tuned for those injectors.

*edit*

Forgot to mention, I have a 239k stock 5.3 in my 93 S-10 and I did nothing but swap pans, wire it up and let it go. It has run flawlessly every single time I have turned the key (except when I ran out of gas in the back yard).

lol, those are for the 400in ford stroker i put on the back burner to do the ls swap. these motors seem to be streetable, reliable and fast....a budget minded builders dream.

im checking the motor out today, inside bore, crank, mains, rods and cam bearings...going to have the block cleaned and sonic tested at very least. i think im leaning towards a 370 forged bottom, texas speed ported 799s, custom cam, ls6 intake, ported cable tb. fuel wise an aeromotive pump and reg, fuel rails, 40-60lb injectors and the on 3 turbo kit stand alone harness (psi or equivalent) and the factory truck ecu tuned will it work and get me close to my goal of nines?? thanks guys

the cost of the turbo is about equal to the cost of a good set of headers and a nice nitrous kit....my compression may be a tad high with the 799s and a flat top but im not opposed to the nitrous build either....may keep me out of trouble
