so the motor ended up having some issues-

first after getting the motor running i found out that i had the coil wiring plugged in backwards on the passenger side- so the ps firing order was wrong. Swapped those around and installed my intake and o2 sensors and figured i would start it up and see how she would idle. Started strong and then just stopped dead...no start afterwards just cranks.

Long story short, my cam swap/engine refresh over two years while also building a car from the ground up resulted in a tightened but not torqued cam bolt on the vvt gear.
The bolt came loose, gear came off, bent valves etc.
New cam gear, swapped the phase limiter, new valves, new bolts everywhere...restart the car- sounds good then stopped again. Same thing. This time the pin sheared off- no bent valves luckily.
Pulled the motor back down and the pin was sheared, so tried to pull the cam to have the pin removed and it wouldnt come out. Center bearing had spun and seized to the cam!
Dropped the motor off at the machine shop and said have at it...

Just got the bottom end back and after polishing the cam, crank, new rod bearings, new cam bearings, new pin, new cam gear, swapping phasers again, new cam bolt, ARP head bolts and crank bolt, new gaskets again etc etc...she is heading once again in the right direction. Talk about starting over! This motor had 7000 miles on it and has run maybe 2 minutes total since.

Anyway, i did manage to get some Speedhut gauges for the car and im cleaning up all the engine parts, resprayed the whole motor again and itll be even better than before- hopefully i get some more run time this go....

Love the Blue paint. Your gonna love the comments once people figure out it's a LS swap. By the way where are your Coil covers from? Love them.

well its been awhile since i posted here- i am on instagram (xsboost90) and pro-touring as well- but i figured i would post an update.

after the motor was put back together- this time with more ARP goodies- it was resprayed again in grabber blue and this time had no issues with oil pressure or dropping valves. Put in my Speedhut gauges and once the car was driveable and moved on its own she went over to WeaponX locally and was dyno tuned by Tracey. Car made 390rwhp on their mustang dyno- 430 when converted to dynojet spec...not bad! I just recently picked up a set of mid length 1 3/4" tube fox body swap headers so hopefully those fit and we may have 400 on the mustang dyno.

Once she was tuned i started getting it mocked up for sheet metal and by september i had it ready to trailer down to LSfest- ended up winning best under construction! That was so cool i decided to plate the car and drive it alittle to shake it down more. The car did great and is crazy quick. Have since added a rear brake bias and made other adjustments but the car is pretty great.

Currently the car just had door skins installed since i didnt like the rust patches i did on the doors, and im waiting for my new fenders and shelby valance to arrive. This means body work this winter and paint in the spring hopefully!

While i wait i have a couple LS swap 944's here getting work done - one blew up big time at the track but is getting a 6.2 swapped in soon after some paint work and track fab stuff.

btw- coilovers in the rear are ride tech- fronts are AJE suspension but im working on getting ride tech fronts to fit as well.

-oh also upgraded front brakes a third time to CobraR sn95 big brembo 13" brakes. Got a deal i couldnt pass up on them- and finished up the exhaust with 2.5" xpipe and two chamber mufflers with turn downs. Custom drive shaft by cincinnati driveline. Did some gap correction on the doors before the fenders arrive and got the headliner in, windows edged in Caspian blue, and now have all new windows for the whole car sitting here- front and rear are in. Piece at a time....

oh and after driving the car awhile, it started having shifting issues. Took it out and sent it up to RPM who did a full rebuild with new shift forks, updated carbon blockers, synchros, couple gears etc. She is brand new and good for 700hp supposedly now- and found out its an Aston Martin Vanquish trans with a Viper tail housing with shifter instead of the solenoids it would have had. Crazy.
