I think you are right. The more i looked at it on Saturday the more it became apparent that is what it is. That black plastic fitting on the end is really what gave it away.

Thank you for chiming in. Now i need to find a hose to replace what is already on there.

Hey guys
I am trying to find a nice parts diagram for the Ls1 engine. It's easy to find a diagram with the major component parts and gaskets, but i need tobuy some replacement vacuum hoses and fittings.

See the below picture. The "Y" shaped hose material is torn. then the black 45degree elbow connector at the end of one hose is also broken. Where can i buy these parts to replace?

Have you tried RockAuto? This looks like it, it's for an '01 Camaro. https://www.rockauto.com/catalog/mor...nid=500&jpid=5

How in the world did you find that? What is the part called?
I cant remember if my engine was an 01 or if it was an 03 Camaro.

Part is listed for 99-02 F-body (Corvette too). No such thing as a 03 Camaro...LOL

You just have to know where to look on Rock Auto. It's listed under 'emmissions'.

Hey Guys,
A few questions about the fuel lines. I didn't use AN fittings. I wanted to save some money.

I connected the rubber fuel hose to the fuel rail and put the proper fuel line type hose clamp on it. This is acceptable right?

Is there a simple fitting i can use that goes from the Corvette fuel filter to a barb fitting? I have mostly seen people go from the Corvette fuel filter fitting to an AN fitting?

you can put an ls6 valley cover on it and eliminate that big pcv hose all together.

I already ordered the hose from Rockauto but could you explain why someone would do this?

.....
I would rethink that unless you want to burn the car to the ground. If you want to save money at least use the OEM nylon style hose and proper OEM style fittings. Dorman sells both the hose and the fittings.

Its one more step in making a really clean looking engine. You can see the small "u" shaped hose next to the throttle body is the only hose involved in my pcv system now. It eliminated the huge nasty hose that always falls apart and is routed all the way around the side and back of the engine. Also the price of the ls6 valley cover is close to the same as a new pcv hose.

There are some things you just dont try to be cheap with.

I advise using the correct fittings and lines on a fuel system. Sliding the hose over the fuel rail and a hose clamp is far from the correct way to do it. If you want the cheapest way to do it correctly i would use the dorman nylon hose and fittings, just like a modern car has on it.

I'm kind of surprised every is saying this about the fuel system connections. I used Fuel rated hose with proper clamps. I don't see how this would burn the car to the ground?
I agree that the connection to the fuel rail isn't the best choice, which is why i specifically mentioned that.

I said SCREW IT. I ordered an entire fuel line kit from Tanks Inc. I will change everything to AN fittings and use the fuel line provided in the kit.

Guys
I have a quick question. I re-did all the fuel lines based on everyone's suggestions.
For the adapters that press onto the different parts: fuel line, fuel filter etc.
I want to confirm that only one of the white clips is used with each fitting.

I want to make sure that the little white clip doesn't need to mate with another clip, it installs directly to the corresponding barbed fitting. It's been a little while since i took everything apart.

Yes 1 white clip per connection. Though some will tell you that particular style connection is known to come apart and blow fuel everywhere. There is a newer style connector that has a positive threaded type lock instead of a plastic squeeze lock connection. I have not see one fail yet though.

I was shopping for transmission shift linkage and found this picture of a 4L60e

Is my 4L60E suppose to have that black Switch on the shift arm of the transmission? My transmission only has the splined shaft coming out. I am trying to make sure i have everything i need to finish connecting the transmission.

Default 54 Chevy

That black box is, among other things, the neutral safety switch. Because the connections are out in the weather GM seals them wire plugs. Only way to get them off is with a heat shrink gun. Good news is that the auto parts stores have that black box in stock. Bad news is trying to find the wire connectors that are not broken.

As a side note the shifter arm on my transmission is exactly opposite to the one pictured! Actually mine points to about 8 o clock when in park and then rotates counter clockwise thru the gears.
