Default Engine swap questions

I've got a 2001 5.3 in my 68 c10, I'm wanting to swap something bigger in but not have to swap harnesses and everything else. Is the biggest I can swap in a 6.0(bored out) and have everything plug up and be controllable by my current PCM?

I'd love an ls2 or 3 but figure they won't be an easy swap.

Anything of a similar year (up till 04/05ish) should work with your existing harness. Any swap will require a retune, but the PCM will work.

You should have an 24x engine.. any 24x engine should just swap in place and use all of the existing sensors or new ones should be ok.

Ditto bczee, if you are using DBW swapping to the LS2 will require using the 5.3 TB. In any event you will most likely need to use the entire existing harness in the truck and possible make a few small sensor connection mods.
