Default 3rd gen to ls adapter question

Can anybody tell me the size adapters I need to use to run the factory tpi old pressure switch and temp gauge sender? I tried to search this and couldn't find the sizes.

Oil pressure looks like 1/8-27NPT and the coolant should be 3/8-18NPT on your TPI. The oil pressure switch on an LS is 14mm-1.50. The temp switch is another story. It's 10mm I believe which is too small to run an adapter. I used a Stewart Warner sending unit for my dash light, it's 1/4-18npt. I drilled the head and threaded it the correct size. If you are going to run an LS1 waterpump you may be able to drill the top near the waterneck for the sending unit. Hopefully others will reply with some other ideas.

Speedway sells the adapters cheap.

Here's a couple links.

Why not just use the 3 wire 98 Coolant sensor for the LS? Using the 3 wire will allow for 1 wire to go to the LS computer and one wire for the stock guage. You will need a new plug for it though. Also the stock TPI guage will work with the stock LS oil pressure sending unit.

I was just planning on using my 3rd gen parts because I have them. The 6.0 I bought didn't come with either. I figured it would be cheaper to use two adapters then to buy two new sensors.

Use the 98 Coolant Temp Sensor and use the factory LS1 Oil Pressure Switch with the 3rd Gen Pigtail. Simple.

By the time you make or buy the adapters you could have purchased the 2 sensors. Also if you are going to have the computer control the fans you are going to need the LS temp sensor. I have the 98 temp sensor on mine and tapped into the LS oil pressure switch as well. Both work just like they should although some report slightly lower readings on the coolant temp. My is right on with my Autometer temp gauge though.

I am going to buy the 3 wire CTS and use that. I'm going to stick with my tpi oil pressure switch though. The LS oil pressure switch is 30 bucks, I can get an adapter from summit racing for 12 bucks.

FWIW, the coolant temp sensor is M12x1.5, on a 2000 F body any how.

I went with the 3 wire CTS and my stock oil pressure switch. My stock oil pressure switch was 1/4 npt. I had bought the adapter but it was only 1/8 npt so I just drilled and tapped it to 1/4. For you guys that used the 3 wire CTS, where do I hook each wire? I see the plug is labeled 1-2-3, but there were no instructions on where to hook which wire. I know the 3 wires hook to the existing 2 wire plug and the 3rd goes to my temp gauge wire.

Here is a link from thirdgen.org. Additional Swap Info. Look at the end of the first post to see how to wire it up.
