Late 4th Gen F-body LS1 or 3rd Gen F-body LM7 Swap?
Hello, I've been searching and researching for a new vehicle to get. I've considered the following options as my main wants:
1998-2002 Chevrolet Camaro SS/Z28 t56
1998-2002 Pontiac Trans Am Ws6
OR
1982-1992 Chevrolet Camaro LM7 t56 swap
1982-1992 Pontiac Firebird/Trans am LM7 t56 swap
OR
1982-1992 Chevrolet Camaro LT-1 t56 swap
1982-1992 Pontiac Firebird/Trans am LT-1 t56 swap
I'm having a hard time deciding on what would be the most cost effective. I understand the 4th gens are so good in terms of looks, but at the cost of 10k for an unmolested one is hard to come by and aren't that easy to find. The 3rd gens have such amazing character but I've heard that a swap can get really costly even with the cheaper 5.3 engine or 5.7 LT-1 engine.
What i want to know is what experiences people have had with either the swaps or the 4th gens. For the swaps i want to know how costly (both mentally and to your wallet) the swap was. The car's gonna be a daily driver for most of the part and occasionally head to the track for a test-and-tune.

Well. I desided to go 4th gen and go with a pewter 2002 Pontiac Trans Am. All stocm. I've had the car for about a year and have blown the syncos in 3rd and 4th tying to power shift. Ten bolt is starting to leak. But hey. It's all a learning process. New tick stage 1 is on the way along with a 12 bolt. All in all I'm glad I went with the 4th gen. The 3rd gen would habe cost a lot of time and I fell in love with my 4th gen.

I do but they're all on my phone. Ill try to post them up soon! Thats a bad *** car you got too. My buddy has a 1994 z28 with just exhaust and people dont believe him in Albuquerque other than the people that know our cars. hes the one that convinced me to get a LS car instead of a Foxbody... thank god.
