? on LS1/2/6 intakes/rails/inj
i have a broken LS1 intake with good rails and injectors, and need to know if the rails & injectors will bolt up to an LS2 or LS6 intake. i am shopping for another intake for my LQ9 Swap. also, has anyone had any success with repairing broken LS intakes. the LS1 intake has 1 broken TB mount, and 1 intake mount broken.

thats what i thought, had it been just a hole would have been an easy fix, but i got the intake from Craigslist, showed up broken and the seller immediately stopped answering my emails/calls so i ate the cost of the broken one. i dont trust Craigslist sellers unless it's a personal transaction.

I agree with them CL dirtbags. They should be taken out and hung
If having to do with online transaction. At lease play it safe by using PayPay or a Credit card that you can dispute it and stop/recover you payment. That eay you have some chance to recover.

I agree with the above comments. The ls1 intakes are cheap so don't waste your time fixing it. I repaired my ls6 intake but the Nylon66 requires a special epoxy to bond and it wasn't cheap. Then you have an ugly repair that you need to mask via sanding and paint. By the time I was done I had $100 in my intake which is cheap since it was free and the ls6 intakes can run around $300.
The LS1 rails, injectors, and throttle body go on to a LS6 intake easy. The LS6 intake has less clearance for the steam tubes underneath but since you are going to use a 6,0 you'd run into that issue anyways.
By the way, nice goat. I have a 67 GTO convertible in the garage that needs a frame up restoration. The original 400 is missing so it will have a 6.0 LS when I am done.

thanks for the compliment Root2812, my brother still has his 64 GTO, since he was 17 (1975), so Pontiacs are deep in the family. i have been researching and reconsidering my options and budget, and i think i'm gonna do the truck intake (i have 3) mod like the video. as far as looks, i will be attaching the TA Shaker to the intake, and making it functional, so intake wont be seen much anyway. the difference in gains will be very small if any for the direction i'm going right now. i'm shooting for around 400+hp, with a cam, full headers, and a professional tune. i think torque gains are what i will be most interested in, and that's what the truck intake was designed around, although i have no idea what all that dead space in the top of the intake is for. iv'e seen the cutaways.
