Been hard to get some work done due to personal issues and rain, but finally got around to it.
Painted engine bay

Refitted the engine

Test fit the trans but noticed the headers hit the subframe

Lets hope we don't cut my headers..

No damage

Polyurethane trans mount with LS1RX8 Trans brace.
Hinson Y pipe doesnt want to fit with the trans mount in place. Obviously wont clear the stock torque arm either. Coming up with a few ideas for a new torque arm or a torque arm delete.
Or.. Down pipes on the headers lol

Installing the MSD Atomic LS EFI. Awesome design, wasn't sure if I wanted this, the FAST EFI or the Holley EFI.

I got this at a great price so I chose the MSD.

Also decided to get a racepak since the two pair with a single Vnet module. However, they discontinued production on the Vnet cable after I purchased them both and now I will have to come up with a solution.

Wilwood proportioning valve for brakes.
Aeromotive Fuel Pressure Regulator.

Racepak test fit

Will be switching to a hydraulic rack (rx7 rack probably)
Along with a hydraulic pump.

holy hell. is that $17,6XX all in? or $33,XXX? man even at $17k an LS2 corvette would be a better/easier/faster/smarter choice. at $33k an LS7 ZO6 is the obvious choice

Does it really matter which comment I quoted when you are the one that came in here trolling and trying to start something? He was just defending himself. In all actuality it seems like you are just jealous of how much he is putting into his swap. Sure he could go buy a Ls2 Vette, but what is the fun in that? He already stated at the beginning of his post that he likes doing projects.

sure got your panties wadded up. I know the guy from another forum (NoRotors). Im just giving him a lil **** about the money in it. I spent much less on mine and built one hell of a car. also my initial question was to clarify what number reflected the actual money in. my comparison afterwards was some more **** talking. perhaps you should go be someone else's superman.

nice work. the mazda is a poor mans vette and very light

you are going to have a blast with that car

but it's true you can get a 12k base car C5 pretty easy and the mods are easier

I love my TT C5 but admire the RX build

I autocrossed an older 12A RX7 and had a blast

fastest car I've seen was a caterham turbo rotary at 1200 lbs making over 350 hp that car was insane full race tires, big angry go cart!!

I've owned both and yes the swapped RX8 is a wild car. C5Zs can be had now in the low teens and are far better in almost every way. However i have a kid so the backseat is a requirement and the sleeper factor of the RX8 is unrivaled. Im excited to see more make it to the street. I can count on one hand how many im aware of. One of which was crashed (they say it fell off a lift lol).
