Default moroso 20140 oil pan question....

well I have the moroso oil pan and the correct pickup and the remote lines ran my issue is im using the stock DIPSTICK and tube.....it says its a 7quart pan I filled it up with 6.5 quarts and checked dipstick to find out dipstick was marking 1 quart over the line???????? wtf..... oil filter is empty that's what I saved the other 1/2 quart for to fill filter up with.

does this pan truely hold 7 quarts or do I have another issue here? by the size and dimensions this pan is similar to the ctsv pan and that pan only holds 5.5quarts. only difference are the kickouts on pan but they don't look like they hold 2 quarts lol.

any help with this would be great I don't want to underfill or overfill engine. also engine was a used takeout not a brand new rebuild so it should have oil in its oiling passages.
what gives

I would say to fill the motor up according to your dipstick. They may be advertising the pan as 7 quart simply because it can hold that much fluid if filled to the top.
