Default T56 Magnum XL...Ford vs GM, what is the difference?

The T56 magnum XL... basically a T56 magnum with a longer tailhousing like the tko 600, sold as a swap in for 2005+ mustangs....

I keep seeing all these threads, some that are several years old, mentioning the GM Version of this Transmission as "coming soon". Yet i only see the magnums with the F-body tailhousing and shifter location.

So my question goes, if you wanna swap an LS and T-56 into something...is there some sort of hindrance in using the "Ford Magnum XL"? The only thing i can think of would be input shaft length.... otherwise why dont i see it for sale with an LS1 bellhousing. I don't even see it for sale without a "Ford Modular" bellhousing.

Sorry if this is noobish, my searches have come up empty.

Input shaft length is different and I believe the LSx bellhousing will not bolt onto the Ford version.
I had a Magnum XL custom built for me to bolt onto an LS engine which is going into an E39. Look out for my build thread on BFC soon.
