Been working on the motor some more week after work..... Got the head studs installed, heads on and torqued, rocker arms/push rods on and torqued..... Today I got the valve cover and an steam port fittings on..... I also checked the fit of the after market valley cover and intake manifold so I could lay out the steam port manifold I want to make(more on this later).....

Here is the motor progress since Monday.....

Frank,

Is the Comet chassis basically the same as my Cougar? It sure looks the same.

I am eager to see what you come up for engine mounts, etc...

Since you're doing a turbo, the steering rack won't interfere with the exhaust that much. Are you considering the TCP rack conversion? It really is a problem solver for several issues with this swap.

The suspension is basically the same as your Cougar, except for the fact that the Comet is probably 2 inches narrower then the Cougar is between the towers..... I have an AJE k-member and control arms sitting here right now..... I did take some measurements today so I could evaluate my options.....

No progress made today, had to clean up the shop after the speedy motor/trans removal yesterday..... I also flushed the heater core and drained all the gas out of the car.....

So are you going to notch the shock towers?

Love the build and your attention to detail.

Can you tell me more about the alt bracket you used? Is it custom made or did you order it from some where?

It's from some place called ICT Billet, here's a link to one in an eBay auctionhttp://www.ebay.com/itm/LS1-Camaro-Alternator-Only-Bracket-Low-Mount-LSX-Electric-Water-Pump-LS-Billet-/131502822801?hash=item1e9e2dd591:

Once again, I have been working on it a little this week after work..... Got the steam port manifold mounted on the valley cover and the assembly painted..... Installed the valley cover on the motor, also bolted the coils on the valve covers..... The fittings came in Thursday for the steam port manifold and I got the installed..... We were out of 1/4" stainless tubing at work, so I need to get some so I can get the lines made.....

Here are some pic's of the progress, the last pic is with the intake just sitting in place.....
