Default 77 Pontiac CanAm Build

Hey all...Been lurking here for quite a while. This fall I started on my 2nd swap: A 1977 Pontiac CanAm. Yes, the "other a-body".

Here the info:
It's a 6.0L LQ4 with a 4l80e behind it.
Modified trailblazer SS manifolds
Dirty Dingo mounts with the x-member cut a bit
GM muscle car pan (its a little too low, but I already bought it)
Tanks INC conversion setup for the tank
Wiring harness is the stock truck harness that I modified and added a Sunfire fuse block for.

Its currently very close to running...here's some pics for amusement sake (more to come, but this is all I have on my phone currently):

Original 400/TH400

LQ4 before cleanup

Test fit with shaker dropped on top

Cut to crossmember

Plated crossmember

Shaved truck intake

Passenger side exhaust

Progress

Firewall cleanup and final mock up

Harness assembly

Diesel pedal VS stocker

Tanks INC installed

Trunk floor to fuel system clearance

nice car for conversion. Is that a cavalier fuse box your using? Wiring wasnt to hard I did mine to, but I moved pcm into car. Work looks nice.

Awesome looking car. Definitely don't see many Can Ams around - at least not here in central NY.

Yeah, cavalier/sunfire fuseblock. Just the right amount of fuses and relays to power everything up iincluding getting rid of the fusible links that powered up the rest of the car. $9 price tag on e-bay was nice too!

Started it up for the first time last week...runs great and fired on first attempt! Now for odds and ends like a driveshaft and some type of air intake and it'll be smokey burnout time! :-)

Weather is supposed to be above freezing this weekend. I plan on rolling it outside and cleaning the garage up. I'll grab some more pics then.

Quite a bit more progress since the last post. Been driving it pretty regularly. Probably 500 miles or more so far. Got the mock shaker scoop installed (painted one hasnt been drilled yet). Speedometer is figured out thanks to a junkyard van cluster and I swapped in some 05 Mustang seats because the stockers are horribly uncomfortable. Enjoy the pics!

Cross member was notched so I didnt have to run spacers under the motor mounts. I used the stupid muscle car pan and it was on the cross member with stock SBC mounts. Lowering the motor down also cleaned up the overall drivetrain angle as well. If I had used the fancy holley oil pan, MAYBE would not have notched it.
