Anything inside the tape is getting cut. Deciding between the sikky front sump or the canton one.

After bracing the body and starring at it for a bit, I worked up the courage and chopped into the firewall. I cut right up to the cowl and then 10inches from the center on each side. On the tunnel I only cut to the first seam because other than the bell housing the t-56 fits pretty nicely.

Mock up mounts tomorrow.

Keeping stock-ish Impreza handling characteristics was one of my biggest concerns so having the engine as far back as possible and as low as possible was key. Keeping the firewall I'd have had to set it farther forward like your kit does. While not entirely necessary, the recessed firewall will make maintenance a breeze on the back half of the engine, allow me to centrally mount the turbo up front, and I'll be integrating a structural scatter shield in with the new tunnel that ties the rear LCA mounts and the trans Mount all in with cage.

Is the table level? Clearly you do not have a female in the house because no way you would be welding on the dining room table. LOL

The table angle I compensated with metal shims about a degree a piece. Makes it easy to set a piece level where ever. The female of the household was not around Lol.
