Default 5.3 steam port questions

I need help with my steam ports. I have searched this site and still need help. I see different configurations for this and I am somewhat confused. The first picture shows the front ports with one tube connected to the TB.

Where does the connection circled in red go to?

The last two pictures are of my rear ports. They are blocked, do I leave them that way?

leave the rear ports plugged. Remove the front plugs and the hoses connected to your TB. You can get new front fittings that tie together and have an outlet to either run to your water pump, radiator or wherever else you're going to vent too.

Do as Jason said above. You can just run a hose from the driver side head port to a fitting on the radiator. Just take the hose off that side leading to the TB and replace with a hose long enough to get to a fitting near the top of the radiator tank.

The OP asked where does the fitting circled in red go? In an Fbody, that fitting connects to the top of the radiator. That looks like a truck motor; not sure where they connect, but there are a few choices that are mentioned above that work well. Yes, leave the rears plugged.

I know this is not what the OP is asking but, Why not run the two rear crossover? Is this a bad idea for some reason?

I dont think it would hurt anything but gm only used the rear ports with the ls1 and discontinued their use with the later engines. Im sure they had a reason

Thanks for the replies. I know I came across some pictures a while ago on here but can't find them now.

The early truck engines (99-00) had all four tied together too, won't hurt anything. Pretty sure GM's reasoning for going to only the front two was a cost cutting move.
