Default -AN SAE Quick Connect Fitting on Stock Pickup/Sending Unit

I am looking at utilizing the factory sending unit and noticed on the Speedway filter/regulator kit that the AN fittings might work on the factory pickup. I would have to shorten the end of the shaft a little bit to be in line with the length on the supplied piece, but is there any reason this would not work? It looks like the flare is big enough to retain the fitting. Thoughts?

Those fittings seal on the internal o-ring. As long as the threaded adapter keeps the fitting from sliding off, I see no issues with using it.

Thanks Andrew. I went back out and played with it a little more and the external diameter of the fuel sender is a little bit smaller than that of the Russell part. I worry about fuel leaking past it, so I'm going to do a 37* flare and fitting on it instead. It's likely only going to be my return line, but I imagine that with the Corvette filter, the PSI in there is probably still high enough to warrant the flared fitting.

This video was the inspiration to do the flared fittings. I've been trying to find this Rigid unit on sale, but no such luck. Not even a Memorial Day discount to be found. BTW, great video!
